Every now and then, I notice a (new) small hole in my fiberglass bathtub.
l know how to make the repairs, but I am curious about what can cause this.
The largest one is smaller than a BB but large enough to be visible. Any
ideas? There are several in the bottom, close to the bend in the very
back. Two new ones just appeared in the front wall, 4 or 5 inches above the
drain. Me, my husband, and 10 year old son use it for baths/showers. There
are no young children who might drop toys and chip it.Also, the holes are
so small that a framing/support problem seems unlikely. l do not know that much about fiberglass though.
fiberglass has a problem when attaching to the mold, if its not
perfectly clean you get a void between the gel coat and the fiberglass its
what they call wet glass.should be covered under warranty if not to old im
thinking 5 years coverage.you should be able to hear the noise if its real
bad.most common place for this is the inside the damn close to the bend in
the floor
Their location might help solve the mystery. Also who uses it.
